Important:
Before downloading any software, or changing any of your computer settings, please log into your E 4 ME course and try it. If everything works OK, you don't need to change a thing.
Necessary Skills:
To successfully take the E 4 ME
course, you will need a minimal set of computer skills. These include the
ability to use E-mail and a Web Browser (e.g., Internet Explorer).
If you feel
that you need to update your basic internet skills, you may want to take a course.
Many public libraries offer free computer courses
ranging from beginner's classes to more advanced classes. Check your local
library for information on free computer courses

Other organizations also offer computer training courses, such as the
Ohio Community Computing Network.

Need a Computer?
Community Technology Centers and public libraries have computers you can use
for free. To find one near you, search
the Ohio Community Computing Network
or Ohio Public Library Web Sites.

Monitor Settings:
This course is viewed best if your monitor is set at 1152 X 864 pixels.
If you are using Windows, you can access this by going to:
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display -> and then Settings
Under Settings, you can modify the monitor by adjusting the Screen Area
sliding lever. |

Browsers:
This course is best viewed with Microsoft Internet Explorer, version
5 or higher. If you do not have this running on your computer, you
can download this software.

Java (Sun): To install this software:
- Click the Java - Get It Now button below.
- The Download Java 2 Platform page appears.
- Scroll down to J2SE v 1.4.2_14 JRE
- Note : You do NOT want the J2SE SDK
- Click Download J2SE JRE and follow the online instructions.
